Vicksburg prisoner dead, autopsy ordered

Authorities in Vicksburg are investigating the death of a prisoner.

Ryan Maddox, 37, was found unresponsive at Vicksburg police headquarters inside a holding cell Thursday afternoon.

Maddox had been arrested around 1 p.m. for the burglary of a storage shed on National Street.

He was transported to River Region Medical Center and pronounced dead at 3:57 p.m.

An autopsy will be performed.
