Saturday, Mississippi's Third District Congressman Gregg Harper issued a statement regarding Congressman Paul Ryan being selected as the Vice-Presidential candidate by Mitt Romney.
"I had the privilege of serving on the House Budget Committee with Congressman Paul Ryan during my first term in the House," said Congressman Harper. "Paul is an incredible visionary and has put forth a serious plan to address the exploding federal debt and deficits by reforming government through real spending discipline and restored economic freedom," said Congressman Harper.
"I truly believe the Romney-Ryan ticket is a conservative team that can win in November and will return our country to the right economic policies and support for the traditional values on which our country was founded," Harper added.
Currently in his second term of Congress, Republican Congressman Gregg Harper serves his congressional district and his state on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, where he is a member of the Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade.
Additionally, he was appointed by Speaker John Boehner to serve his second term on the Committee on House Administration, where he is the chairman of the Subcommittee on Elections, and is one of only ten members on Committee on Ethics.
For the past two terms in Congress, his peers have elected him to represent their class on the Republican Steering Committee.
