JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Early morning storms left several Southwest Jackson residents with a big mess to clean-up Tuesday morning.
Strong winds and rain also caused several tree limbs to split from trees along Metairie Road. Leaves, twigs and large branches were left scattered in the street and in yards.
Jackson resident Frank Lewis woke up during the storm around 12:45 A.M. Lewis believes lightening struck a tree in front of his home.
"What I heard, it sounded just like a tornado was coming, it even sounded like the windows inside the house were going to be sucked outside of the house so I got up found a flashlight came outside and that's the first thing I saw," Lewis told WLBT News.
Officials from the Jackson Police Department said no one was injured during the storm.
