Copiah County man sentenced for selling counterfeit goods

A Copiah County man is going to prison for selling counterfeit goods in downtown Hazlehurst out of his car.

According to the office of Attorney General Jim Hood, 25 year old Christopher Williams was sentenced for one felony count of vending goods bearing a counterfeit trademark or label.

Williams pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to five years behind bars and also ordered to pay a fine and other court costs. As part of the sentencing hearing, the judge ordered the counterfeit items destroyed.
