WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A car was pulled out of the Mississippi River Thursday afternoon at Letourneau Landing south of Vicksburg.
The vehicle was discovered due to the current low level of the river. Only the top of the car was visible because it was so badly buried in sand.
Authorities believe the car will turn out to be stolen and was likely dumped in the river more than a year ago.
The car is believed to be a red Chevrolet Impala. Officers were unable to immediately find a tag or complete vehicle identification number.
There was no one in the vehicle.
