JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A spokesperson for Jackson State University has confirmed former Ole Miss wide receiver Tobias Singleton will enroll at JSU. Singleton is eligible to play this season for the Tigers.

The former Madison Central standout left the Ole Miss football team after only one season with the Rebels.

Head coach Hugh Freeze confirmed Singleton's departure from the program after Wednesday's practice.

The sophomore was splitting time at wide receiver and running back for the Rebels through spring and fall camp.

He played in ten games as a freshman in 2011.

He finished with two receptions for 12 yards and 15 yards rushing.

Jackson State opens the 2012 season against Mississippi State on Sept. 1.
