Two Jackson businesses were targeted by armed thieves Saturday.
Jackson Police Officer Colendula Green said the first hold up happened around 6:40 p.m. at the Pizza Hut in the 2400 block of Bailey Avenue.
Workers inside the restaurant told investigators that a man entered the business, displayed a gun and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was injured.
About two hours later around 9:30 p.m. officers responded to a second armed robbery at the Family Dollar Store in the 3300 block of Terry Road.
The unidentified thief also was armed with a gun, made similar demands and quickly left with cash.
No shots were fired.
Police are trying to determine if the robberies are connected.
