Researchers in Rhode Island are testing a new radiation therapy that could help breast cancer patients.
It's called the Accuboost System... And starts with mammography like imaging.
Radiation is delivered through catheter-like wires ... Precisely to the spot where the cancer was removed.
The expectation is that women will have fewer side effects and better cosmetic outcomes. Researchers are hopeful this non-invasive treatment will become the standard of care.
