The presence of high pressure in the eastern side of the United States is actually playing in our favor for today. More sunshine for today and highs are expected to reach into the lower to mid 90s.
Wind have now shifted out of the southeast for today, making it a bit muggy by the peak heating hours of the afternoon.
Tonight a few scattered clouds are expected to make (at least) a brief appearance. There's going to be a 20% chance of showers in the early evening hours; however most areas won't see a drop. We'll drop to the upper to mid 60s during the overnight period.
Chances of rain go on the increase for Saturday afternoon, with highs staying near the mid 90s for today. The chances of isolated showers will peak at 35 % by the afternoon hours with winds from the south.
ISAAC UPDATE: Tropical storm Isaac continues to cause concern for the gulf coast near Mobile, Alabama. The latest models indicate that at least 2 of 6 models for the storm track indicating it could hit Mobile Alabama/Pascagoula area.
Currently all Hurricane watch/Tropical storm warnings are targeted for Haiti with threat of significant rainfall and storm surges being the main concern at this point.
