The American Red Cross has come up with a hurricane app it hopes will help cell phone users in preparation for Tropical Storm Isaac.
The Red Cross is urging users to update and download the Hurricane app. It has several different features that helps users to stay in contact with family and friends, keep up with weather alerts, as well as locate Red Cross shelters in your area.
The hurricane app follows the recently released Red Cross First Aid app which has had nearly 600,000 downloads in just six weeks.
The hurricane and first aid applications can be found in the Apple App Store. Android users can go to the Google play store to download them.
The public can also visit mississippi-redcross.org to download a hurricane preparedness sheet that can posted at home or work.
