JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A suspect has been arrested and charged with arson in connection with an office fire at a Jackson apartment complex earlier this month.
Willie Lee Allen, 23, also known as Little Willie, is being held in the Hinds County Detention Center.
Investigators say someone intentionally set fire to the office of the Pine Ridge Garden Apartments, formally known as the Rebelwood Apartments, August 13.
It happened while a vigil was being held for a man who was shot and killed by an apartment security guard the night before.
Allen has a Jackson address, but Jackson Fire Department Investigator Chief Gregg Travis says he is on probation for crimes committed in Louisiana.
Travis also says arson arrests have been made in a series of house fires in the Washington Addition.
Damien Mason, 23, was arrested Tuesday morning for torching a house on 1417 Hair Street.
Nategus D. Mason, 23, and Larry Simon, 24, were arrested early Monday morning for house fires at 1549 Jones Avenue and 258 Eastview Street.
The multiple house fires occurred over a 48-hour period and Travis says the motive appears to have stemmed from a dispute.
