Police investigate shooting near Jackson nightclub

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police are investigating a shooting that occurred at a residence off Highway 80.

Officer Colendula Green, Jackson Police spokesperson, says it happened at 1368 Whiting Road, which is behind the Main Event Sports Bar on Highway 80.

Green says one man was shot multiple times and taken to CMMC with life-threatening injuries.

The call came into police at 8:49pm.

The victim's name has not been released and there is no word on a motive or suspect right now.
