There's another day of dangerous heat for our area as the temps are expected to climb into the upper 90s. The heat index is expected to reach triple digits by late morning hours and staying elevated above 100 all afternoon long.
Highs will be in the upper 90s, and the winds from the NE 10-15 mph. Taking breaks from the heat and drinking plenty of water will be necessary for today and likely for tomorrow.
A slight chance of rain may develop in the extreme south east portions of our viewing area during the early evening hours. Temps will drop into the mid 70s and winds staying light.
By the late evening hours the skies will clear up rather quickly, making for a starry night.
Thursday the threatening heat continues to roll on, with a bit more in the way of moisture in the air. Heat index will hover between 102 - 109 during the peak heating hours of the afternoon.
High will be near 97 degrees or slightly above, and winds NE 10-15mph.
