What Jackson City Council needs to investigate

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Jackson City Council's investigation into money spent on rewiring Metrocenter so city offices could move there is understandable, but perhaps going a bit too far.

The wiring is there. Council members inspected it last week.

What the council should be investigating is why we have riffraff terrorizing complete neighborhoods with near impunity.

Why we have city fountains that don't work. Why we have potholes all over the city that ruin folks' tires, rims, and axles.

And why folks have to spend countless hours each year waiting on trains illegally stopping for long periods on Jackson tracks and nothing done about it.

If the city could figure out the loss in productivity from all these poor folks, perhaps they could then get Canadian National Railroad to pony up the money to help fix those potholes.

That's my Point of View.
