ATTALA COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Motorists were fortunate to be able to walk away from two separate crashes in Attala County.

This information is reported by Kosyonline.

The Mississippi Highway patrol and Attala County authorities investigated a rollover on Highway 35, two miles south of Carmack.

Units responded around 11:30 Saturday morning.

Witnesses said the driver was shaken but not injured when her vehicle overturned.

She told investigators that she must have fallen asleep causing the SUV to crash and flip before coming to a rest on its side.

Authorities were also on the scene of a two car accident Friday night in Attala County.

The crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on Highway 12.

Officials said one vehicle apparently rear ended the other.

The accident blocked the east bound lanes of the highway.

We are told none of the occupants needed medical attention.

The names of those involved in the separate crashes have not been released.

State troopers, Attala and Sallis Volunteer Fire Departments responded to that scene.
