BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Reservoir firefighters and other emergency responders run to remember those killed in the September 11th terrorist attacks in New York.
More than 100 people laced up their shoes Sunday to run 11 miles in the 3rd annual 9/11 Memorial Run.
The finish line was at Lakeshore Park. There was also a kids activity area at the park.
Flags were placed in a field to remember those who lost their lives during the terrorist attack.
Organizers hope the Americans will continue to find ways to honor the heroes of September 11th.
"We want to remember that day, we want to remember those that died both civilian and medical personnel, police and firemen as well. And we want to make it so that people don't ever forget," says volunteer Larry Swales.
Profits from the event will be donated to the Mississippi Burn Foundation.
