The State Highway Patrol confirms they responded to a head-on collision on Interstate 20 westbound just before Highway 61 at mile marker 7 in Warren County.
All westbound lanes were shut down as emergency responders worked the scene. Corporal Odis Easterling of the State Highway Patrol confirms one person was killed in the accident. A second person was trapped inside the vehicle.
There is no word on the condition of the second person. So far, there is no information on the other vehicle involved in this accident.
Easterling says a medical helicopter was landing in the area around 8:40 p.m. to airlift the pinned accident victim to the hospital.
