JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A man who escaped from federal authorities Wednesday morning in a south Jackson neighborhood has turned himself in.
Wednesday morning, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Hinds County deputies combed through a neighborhood near the intersection of Sage Crest Avenue and Shadow Lawn Drive.
Authorities were searching for 24-year-old Travis Warden. Warden was in prison from June 2006 to August 2010.
"He was originally charged with armed carjacking and was on probation for that in May of this year a warrant was issued for his arrest," said Richard Griffin, the Supervisory Inspector for the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Griffin said Warden was hiding in the attic of his girlfriend's home. He fell through the ceiling and came through this storage room door.
Griffin said a "foot pursuit ensued and he managed to escape."
Warden turned himself into a Marshal Deputy around 11 a.m.
