Search continues for gunman

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police need your help finding the suspect or suspects responsible for an early morning shooting.

Twenty-two year-old Kashun McGee was shot outside of his apartment complex around 4:20 A.M. The building is in the 13-hundred block of Cleveland Avenue.

McGee's grandfather who lives in the same apartment complex said a bullet went through his front window and shattered his car window. The victim's aunt who did not want to be identified by name described what she heard this morning.

"Gunshots woke me up I heard about 8 gunshots outside and I came outside and that's when I found out my little nephew had got shot and they were saying get him to the hospital get him to the hospital he got shot."

Family members rushed McGee to Baptist hospital after he was shot. Jackson police said McGee's injury is non-life threatening. 

Police say no suspects are in custody and there is no motive for the shooting at this time.
