(WMC-TV) - Jerry "The King" Lawler is back home in Memphis and appears to be in good spirits. We have received more pictures of his happy return from Canada.
The 62-year old wrestling icon collapsed during a live WWE event in Montreal last Monday. He then underwent heart surgery.
Lauryn McBride, Lawler's girlfriend, told us Lawler may have overexerted himself while taping a promo, and he has been ordered to take it easy. And she says being home in Memphis will help.
"Vince McMahon was kind enough to allow us to fly back on his private jet along with the doctor, Dr. Sampson, who saved his life at the arena, so, we're very very thankful for that," said McBride.
At this time, we do not know how long Lawler's recovery might take.
But one thing is for sure, according to his girlfriend, he is grateful for all of the support he has received during this difficult time.
