Direction change on I-20 causes chain reaction wreck

HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A driver attempting to change directions on Interstate 20 caused a chain reaction accident Tuesday afternoon.

It happened in the westbound lanes between Clinton and Bolton.

The highway patrol says the driver of a gray sedan had pulled into the emergency vehicle turnaround.

The car behind the sedan abruptly stopped, causing the two vehicles that followed to crash.

Then, a DIRECTV van that was attempting to avoid the three car pileup swerved into the median and crashed into the side of the car that was turning around.

No one was seriously hurt. They only suffered minor cuts and scrapes.
