Wednesday's Child - Kelley

This week's Wednesday's Child is 15 and enjoys school but can't wait to graduate from high school and go to college. 15 year old Kelley opened up about her hopes of being a veterinarian, of finding an adoptive home and what it's like to miss family members.

Skating brought back a lot of memories for Kelley. She says she remembers learning with her father.

"When I was little we used to come here for little birthday parties and stuff when I was younger and he had me. And I kept on falling so he went out there and kind of helped me skate. Then after we got separated and then that's when I started forgetting a lot of things that he taught me", Kelley said.

Kelley thrives on one on one attention. She likes getting her hair done, and enjoys drawing and coloring , which is her way of relaxing.

"I know I'm intelligent, smart, beautiful, I have good talents. You're determined, you never give up. And I never give up even though I want too, I just don't", said Kelley.

Kelley says she does not necessarily collect mood rings but she does own some and this Hello Kitty necklace that changes color with her emotions.

"It tells you if you're happy, sad, angry, everything so.. So what does the color purple mean? Excited", Kelley said.

She has been known to act out in frustration, but Kelley says she has learned positive ways to deal with anger and pain. She says she tries to fill her time with good things rather than focus on the negative in her life.

"I like to draw, color, read, look at magazines. I like to watch TV, I like to watch movies. I like to go swimming, shopping, talk to my best friends and just have a good time", said Kelley.

Social workers say Kelley would benefit best from a single female who can provide a loving home, but Kelley says she wants to be in a home where she can help take care of babies.

"Parents that will care, talk to you when you're down, tuck you in at night, just a good home where I'm loved", Kelley said.
