JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating after an armed robbery at a Flora store led to a chase into Jackson Friday morning.

Police say around 9: 30 a.m., a black male suspect entered the Fred's Discount Store on Highway 49 in Flora. The suspect reportedly acted like he wanted to purchase a soda. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the suspect grabbed money from the drawer.

The suspect then fled in a maroon Honda Odyssey Van, which was later spotted by Flora police headed into Jackson.

The van was stopped in the Presidential Hills neighborhood where a man and woman were arrested by Flora and Jackson Police. A third suspect fled on foot.

One of the occupants reportedly said they had "borrowed the van from their momma."

Some items were recovered by the Jackson Crime Lab, and the vehicle was towed.

A manhunt ensued for about an hour in the area with various agencies, including Metro One, but to no avail on the third suspect.

Flora Police Chief Judy Tucker says the investigation is ongoing.
