Summer making a come back?

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Mild and pleasant sunshine will kick off this work week, as we begin the first full week in the fall season. The normal high for this time of the year is in the mid 80s, but we'll stay above that this week. High near upper 80s today, and winds from the east at 5-10mph.

Tonight the temps will fall to near 60 degrees. A change in the winds will set up for warmer conditions to kick in as early at Tuesday. Tonight it stays mild and relatively cool. Winds are shifting from the east to the southeast at 5-10mph.

A muggy feel will be in full effect for Tuesday, thanks to a shift in direction from the winds. Southern winds will carry not only warmer air, but more moisture into our area.

That means we're going to have a revisit of a 'dog day' from the summertime. High will be near 90 degrees, and the heat index near 95 during the afternoon.
