Truck rams into power pole

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The driver of a Ford pick-up truck ran into a wooden power pole on State Street between Court and Tombigee streets in Jackson around 6:30 a.m. Monday.

The wreck knocked out power to the Tombigbee Street traffic light at the State Street intersection.

The driver of the truck said he was driving north on State Street. He said he took a sip of some hot coffee and lost control of his truck.

Officials from Energy said it could take several hours to repair the power pole.
