JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A used car lot manager was arrested in north Jackson Wednesday. The dealership is located near the intersection of Briarwood Drive and North State Street.

WLBT News spotted police cars staging to make the arrest near the business, which is named The Car Lot, and followed them to the scene.

Officers rolled into the car lot about 11:30 a.m. They went inside and came out with 43-year-old Vincent Todd of Jackson in custody.

Todd was charged with felony false pretense for allegedly pocketing the proceeds from selling a Mercedes-Benz.

He was put in a squad car and taken downtown. His employees watched the events unfold from a showroom window.

"The complainant said that he had given Mr. Todd his 2008 Mercedes CLS 550 Class for him to sell. In which Mr. Todd did sell the vehicle, but he kept the money. The dealership notified the complainant that they had never received the money that Mr. Todd was supposed to give them," said JPD spokesperson Officer Colendula Green.

Green says the car costs about $100,000.  She added, "So he was able to get a substantial amount of money on the vehicle."

A salesman says the dealership sells 20 to 40 cars a month.
