Jackson businessman headed to prison for wire fraud

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson businessman was sentenced to eight years in prison Wednesday for wire fraud.

Choyes Hilterbrand, 63, a/k/a Ken Carroll, was also ordered to pay $268,204.79 to the victims of his federal wire fraud activities. 

Hilterbrand was the owner of Licensing MDs-U.S. Medical Licensing. The company contracted with various doctors and medical clinics around the country to handle the administrative paperwork of acquiring and updating medical licenses for doctors.  

Hilterbrand must also serve a five year term of supervised release.
