Hinds County detention officer arrested

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A preliminary hearing was held in Jackson Municipal Court Thursday for a Hinds County Sheriff's Department detention officer arrested for shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Bond for officer Consuela Thompson was set at $15,000.

Thompson is charged with shooting in an occupied dwelling where children were.

Captain Joseph Daughtry, spokesman for the Hinds County Sheriff's Department, says Thompson has been placed on administrative leave.
