JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Future doctors are helping cancer patients. Medical students from the University of Mississippi Medical Center sponsored this Bone Marrow Bowl-A-Rama at the Strike Entertainment Bowling Alley Friday night.
This is a benefit for the Mississippi, Louisiana Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Advisors for the Student National Medical Association say service is an important part of the education of future physicians and this is an excellent way to encourage and promote their efforts beyond the classroom.
The students raised nearly $2,000 before the event.
