JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A Columbus teenager, who is battling cancer, will soon be making the music of his dreams thanks to the Make-A- Wish Foundation.
Brandon Holmes saw his wish come true Saturday at Guitar Center in Jackson.
He suffers from Osteosarcoma which is a cancerous bone tumor.
The 15-year-old music lover wanted a guitar to complete his musical gear and got much more.
Guitar Center General Manager Phillip Cap and crew set Brandon up with a new five string bass guitar, an electric drum set, throne, an IPAD2 with recording software and an iRig.
The surprised musician said he started playing drums and is learning the bass and keyboard.
"I wasn't even expecting all this today. My daddy just said we're going to Jackson. I didn't know where we were going so it's overwhelming. I wasn't even thinking about this," said Holmes.
"It's tremendous the way it touches their lives. It gives our kids hope, strength and joy and encourages them through their hard times and struggle through their medical condition," said Judy Phillips, Director for Operations and Programs Services for Make-A-Wish Mississippi.
Brandon, his family and Make-A-Wish volunteers also enjoyed lunch at Burgers and Blues before the big presentation.
