A Lincoln county jail inmate traded a few moments of freedom for a longer prison stay after escaping Friday afternoon.
Sheriff Steve Rushing said it happened in the jail's recreation yard.
Inmate Lloyd Tillman, age unavailable, scaled a pole then pushed the wire aside and escaped through the fenced roof.
Officials said Tillman was captured about 20 minutes later about a block away from the jail.
The sheriff said Tillman was being held on forgery and check related charges.
He now faces escape charges.
