New research links a pregnant woman's high blood pressure to her children's thinking skills.

Researchers say babies whose mothers had high blood pressure during pregnancy scored lower on thinking ability tests throughout adulthood.

The finding was strongest for math-related reasoning. Hypertension affects about 10-percent of pregnancies. @@

This study is from researchers at the University of Helsinki in Finland, and is published in Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
