B.J. Lee leaves Jackson State football team

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

One of Jackson State's most talented football players has decided to leave the team.

JSU officials confirmed Tuesday that running back B.J. Lee is no longer a member of the Tigers football team.

Lee transferred to JSU from Southern Methodist University two years ago and was among the team leaders in rushing.

The Ridgeland native was not with the team versus Prairie View.

Coach Rick Comegy says Lee's departure is not a distraction, and he is pleased with where his team is right now.

Lee is a member of the Jackson State track team.
