Another WLBT viewer describes shots fired at MS State Fair

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Another WLBT viewer has come forward to describe a shooting at the Mississippi State Fair.

This after law enforcement deny it happened.

A spokesman for AMR  Ambulance Service says paramedics responded to the area of High and Monroe streets after a shots fired call with injuries early Saturday morning.

A male victim at the scene refused to be taken to the hospital.

A Jackson man, who did not want to be identified, describes what he saw while stopped in traffic on High Street.

He heard gunfire and saw people running inside the fairgrounds.

"Then we heard other shooting going on and it was a suburban that was parked over there by the Equine Center and he was kneeled down behind it, and he stuck his gun out behind the bumper or maybe the front and just started shooting real fast," said the witness to the gunfire.

Jackson Police and the Hinds County Sheriff's Department say they did not respond to and are not investigating a shooting or shots fired call at the Fairgrounds or in the area of the fair.
