Drug maker Eli Lilly reports an experimental Alzheimer's drug, a neuro protector, led to a 34 percent reduction in memory decline.
The result was only found in the earlier stages of the disease.
Executives say currently there is no treatment that delays cognitive decline and they are hoping this drug's potential will be viewed with high importance as studies continue and results are put to the FDA for consideration.
The studies are from Eli Lilly and Co and were presented Monday at a meeting of the American Neurological Association.
