The CDC has released a list of the states that received contaminated steroid injections to treat chronic pain, and Mississippi is not among them.
No pain clinics here have received the product from a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts, but state health officials say they will continue to closely monitor it.
The CDC is now reporting there have been 12 deaths and about 120 cases so far of a rare form of meningitis, that resulted from the injections.
The hardest hit state is Tennessee with 39 cases and 6 deaths.
As many as 13,000 people nationwide may have received the steroid injections to treat chronic pain.
The product has since been recalled.
