Longview gas leak contained, residents allowed back in homes

Posted: Updated:
LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

A major gas leak forced the brief closure of roads and evacuations of homes in Longview on Thursday morning.

The gas leak was in the 100 block of Delmar Street.

Crews evacuated the area of the 100 block of Delmar Street, Dawn Street, Delano Street, and Crystal Street.

Officials say an above ground gas tank was the source of the leak, and the Longview Fire Department responded to the scene, while the gas company tended to the issue.
