Michael Jordan's mother reads to Jackson youth

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The lady responsible for "Air Jordan" was in Jackson Thursday.

The mother of NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan stopped in the capital city to help spread the importance of reading in Mississippi.

Deloris Jordan read her book titled "Salt in His Shoes" to kids at the Eudora Welty Library in downtown Jackson for its Books for Tots program.

The book tells the story of a young Michael Jordan learning to fight through adversity.

Deloris hopes the kids can take the simple message and continue to grow.
