Voters ready to watch second presidential debate

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

As President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney prepare to square off for their second debate, several of you said you already know who you're voting for.

"I'm leaning towards Mitt Romney," said Tupelo resident Eddie Scott.

"I want Obama to stay in office because I feel like Obama is doing a pretty good job," said Cornelius Newell.

"I am registered and I am ready to vote," Chanel Evans told WLBT News.

Mississippi College School of Law Professor Matt Steffey said debates typically don't sway decided voters. However, with the President and Governor Romney running neck to neck, Steffey said anything can make a difference in how people vote.

"With an election this close a virtual tie at the national level for months now, an election that's going to be contested by a few people and a few swing states there is reason to think it could matter," said Steffey.

Scott said he hopes lots of his questions are answered Tuesday night.

"I still want to hear more about what's coming in the economic recovery of our nation I'm not real satisfied where we're at," said Scott.

Evans said she wants to hear the candidates talk about issues like healthcare, jobs and growing the economy."

"I really want to see that it's about the people it's about the voters," said Evans.
