HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
An early morning accident in Hinds County between an 18-wheeler and an SUV proved to be fatal.
Around 3am Saturday, a Silver Mazda SUV and a Volvo 18-wheeler hauling dry goods collided on Highway 49, just South of Pocahontas. The State Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Robin Credit of Jackson was driving the Mazda northbound in the southbound lane. The tractor trailer, driven by 48-year-old Gutierrez Bonner of Greenville, was traveling south in the southbound lane. The vehicles collided head-on. The SUV went up in flames.
Credit was entrapped and pronounced dead at the scene. Bonner escaped unharmed.
No charges have been filed.
