JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

One man is dead after a hit and run crash early Sunday morning in Jackson.

It happened in the 46 hundred block of Highway 80, about 2:45 a.m.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart says an unidentified African-American man, in his mid-40's, died of blunt force trauma after being hit by a vehicle.

Jackson Police have not provided any details about the incident.

The victim's next of kin has not been notified.
