Before a brisk walk, representatives from Ridgeland welcomed and prepped seniors for a little workout.
Dozens of folks met at the Ridgeland Recreation Center near the Reservoir for the Mayor's Fun Walk. Participants walked from the recreation center about half a mile out on the multi-purpose trail and back.
"It's to show our senior adults that they can keep moving that they are a vital part of our community and how important exercise is," said Lynda Assink, the City of Ridgeland's Senior Adult Coordinator.
Refreshments, prizes and musical entertainment were included during the fun walk.
