Sound Off: Get the Last Word

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hinds County Supervisor Kenneth Stokes still refuses to apologize for his offensive language and behavior during a recent board meeting. This was his comment when asked if he would apologize:

"The other alternative would be for me to get up out of my seat and go to a person in the audience who should not be making any comments and slap the bad word out of them. Now, would you rather I had done that?"

Really, was that Stokes only other choice to use a profanity laced tirade in front of the citizens who you were elected to serve? To use, "Yo Mama and other inappropriate language, then call a female county employee an Uncle Tom that's a new low even for him. Stokes is the same person that has called numerous press conferences saying we have to stop the violence in our neighborhoods. So much of the violence occurs needlessly when people can't control their tempers. Supervisor Stokes needs to learn that "An apology is the best way to have the last word."
