More details released in Rankin County crash

PELAHATCHIE, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

We have new details in the investigation into Monday night's accident in a Rankin County.

Sheriff Bryan Bailey said only one person was ejected in that crash near 696 Leesburg Road in Pelahatchie.

Eighteen-year-old Julie Davis of Pelahatchie was the driver. Two juveniles -- a 15-year-old female and 9-year-old male -- were also in the vehicle.

The car was found in an open field flipped on its side.

Sheriff Bailey said the 15 year old, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. She was air lifted to the hospital.

An update on her condition was also not available Tuesday evening.

Accident reconstructionists are evaluating the scene to determine the cause of the crash.

The sheriff said alcohol does not appear to be involved.
