JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A special neighborhood dedication is set for 1 PM for Jackson's Englewood Gardens neighborhood. Over the course of nine months Habitat for Humanity helped lead the effort to build 27 brand new homes in Englewood Gardens.

Two of those homes are under construction and three are not built yet. Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson and several other dignitaries are expected to attend Wednesday's dedication.

Englewood Gardens was once used as an illegal dumping site for trash, old furniture and animal carcasses.
