Just one year ago, Englewood Gardens was a rundown area of west Jackson that had become an illegal garbage dump. But Habitat for Humanity of Metro Jackson has stepped in to change all that.
22 new homes have been built and they have all been sold.
Three more are under construction.
The three, four, and five bedroom homes mark new life for the neighborhood.
A formal dedication was held on-site Wednesday.
Local leaders joined Habitat representatives and some of the new homeowners to celebrate the occasion.
Construction of the homes was made possible through public and private partnerships.
It's a $3.4 million investment in west Jackson.
