Keith Kinkade, the owner of Kinkade's Fine Clothing in Ridgeland got an early start prepping in pink for the block party. Thursday morning he raised pink flags outside of his store.

The Survivors' Day Block Party will take place in and around Kinkade's. It's a time to honor breast cancer survivors and everyone who has been impacted by the disease.

Tracey Head, a breast cancer survivor, who realized something was wrong after a self-breast exam, spoke with WLBT.

"Being 35 it was kind of odd to have to have a mammogram, but he suggested that I do so and by doing that that's how I discovered mine, caught it at an early stage which was great, I had my surgery, went through my chemotherapy and I'm a breast cancer survivor today ten years," said Head.

The Survivors' Day Block Party is from 5PM to 7PM.  It's free and open to the public. Kinkade's Fine Clothing is located at 120 West Jackson Street in Ridgeland.
