Power of Pink Survivors' Day Block Party

Posted: Updated:
RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Every year in Mississippi, thousands of women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Survivors were celebrated with a huge block party in Ridgeland Thursday night.

WLBT's annual Power of Pink campaign brought survivors, family members, health care providers and business leaders together at Kinkade's in Olde Towne Ridgeland.

Pink balloons and the Power of Pink car from Wilson Kia were reminders of the importance of support for those who battle breast cancer.

Two winners were also announced in a raffle for a custom made suit from Kinkade's, and a round trip ticket to Atlanta for a weekend stay at the Ritz Carlton.

Money from the raffle will help "fund for the girls" which provides assistance for women who can't afford mammograms or breast cancer treatment.

The winners in Thursday night's raffle are John Jordan of Madison who won a custom made suit from Kinkade's valued at $1800.00. The winner of the round trip ticket to Atlanta for a weekend stay at the Ritz Carlton is Mary Ellen Yarborough of Jackson.
