COPIAH COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The Mississippi Department of Transportation dedicated a stretch of highway to a blues legend Friday.
The Robert L. Johnson Blues Memorial Highway dedication was held at the Crystal Springs exit in Copiah county on Interstate 55.
Several of Johnson's relatives attended the event. Johnson, who was born in Copiah County in 1911, gained extraordinary skills playing the guitar.
According to a legend, he sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads in the delta.
