The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Thursday a $10,000 reward is being offered to help catch the elusive Loan Ranger Bandit.
Authorities say the serial bank robber most recently hit the BancorpSouth on Main Street in Madison Oct. 26. They believe he's the same man whose robbed nine other banks in Texas and Arkansas since 2009.
WLBT reported the possible connection in October after news staff at WLBT's sister station KLTV-TV in Tyler, Texas, noticed a number of similarities between Madison's bank robber and the Loan Ranger Bandit.
He's dubbed the Loan Ranger Bandit for the blue Texas Rangers hat he has worn while robbing banks where loans are offered, according to the FBI.
Each time, the robber has made no attempt to hide his face. The robber is a white male in his early 30s, approximately 5'7" to 6'0" tall, approximately 200 pounds, with a medium build. He has short light brown hair, wears glasses, and has a small mole or mark just above his right eye on the lower part of his forehead. His varied clothing styles have included: athletic wear, jeans, and business attire.
The suspect may drive a maroon Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with a thin white pinstripe around the truck bed.
